Smith Memorial Congregational Church UCC

Worship and Music

Worship

September through June – Sunday service is 10:30am-11:30

All are welcome as we gather to worship. Our sanctuary is fully accessible and we have a children’s area (a pray ground!). Through Scripture, prayer, music and reflection we worship God, are strengthened and encouraged, and prepared to serve God’s people and creation. Our worship is available on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/smithmemorialucc.

Lay leaders are an active part of our worshipping life. This includes the choir, handbell choir, greeters, ushers and lay readers. Please speak with Pastor Donna if you are interested in participating in these ways.

July through Labor Day – Sunday service is 9:30am. The choir and handbells are on hiatus.

Music

Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord” (Ephesians).

Smith Church is known for its glorious music. Won’t you lift your voice with ours?

Adult Choir – Our Adult Choir rehearses from September through June prior to the worship service on Sundays. Please contact our Music Director, Linda Bissonnette, through the Church office (603-464-3529) or by email smithmemorialucc@gmail.com to learn more.

Joyful Noise – “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord…” Our pre-schoolers do this, and more, with all sorts of instruments and their voices! Please contact Barbara by phone at 603-464-5239 or by email bdaley@tds.net to find out how your child can participate.

Handbell Choir – The Smith Memorial Handbell Choir is a multi-generational, ecumenical group that enjoys ringing at home or on the road, from Bennington, Vermont, to Carnegie Hall! Please contact Jon Daley at 603-547-9024 for more information.

Communion

Communion is held on the first Sunday of every month and is for all Christians who wish to know the presence of Christ and to share in the community of God’s people, regardless of your faith tradition and membership in this church.

We receive food donations in support of the SAU 34 End 68 Hours of Hunger program on this day. https://www.end68hoursofhunger.org/find-your-community/new-hampshire/hillsboro/

Coffee Hour

Following worship, all are welcome to meet downstairs in the vestry for beverages and snacks. Coffee, tea, juices and a variety of “treats” are provided.
